Key West Bus Tour Itinerary
How to Check In for Your Key West Bus Tour
Checking in is simple. All you need is the confirmation email you receive at the time of booking. We highly recommend arriving 30 minutes before departure so your morning starts smoothly.
If you’re driving, remember that
parking in Downtown Miami is not free. Most travelers choose the
Bayside Garage because it’s the closest parking option to the pickup location. Full-day parking can range from
$50–$60, but there are cheaper lots in Downtown if you prefer to look around.
The bus is air-conditioned for comfort and safety. It can feel cold, so we recommend bringing a jacket, sweater, or blanket for the ride. You will hop off in Islamorada, but you’ll still be traveling 3.5 hours, so we want you comfortable the whole way.
Miami to Key West hotel pickup:
As soon as you book, call
786-714-1314 to arrange your pickup.
We only need
24 hours’ notice to coordinate.
If your hotel is not within our pickup zone, we will find a nearby location where you can meet us — walking, driving, or ride share.
Either way:
we will pick you up.
This isn’t a sales pitch —
it’s service, value, and experience, which is what makes us the
top-rated Key West bus tour from Miami according to Google reviews.
Morning Departure From Miami
Your day starts at Holiday Inn – 340 Biscayne Blvd, Miami FL 33132, with departure at 7:00 AM. After hotel pickups from Miami Beach, South Beach, Downtown Miami, and Brickell (no Doral pickups), you’ll board the comfortable double-decker bus and begin your journey toward the Florida Keys.
Hop-Off Stop in Islamorada (Betsy the Lobster)
We are the only Miami to Key West bus tour that hops off in Islamorada before reaching Key West. This exclusive 30–45 minute stop includes:
- Photos with Betsy the Lobster, the world-famous giant sculpture
- Breakfast at Cracker Barrel
- Souvenir shopping at better prices than Key West
- Fresh island air and a chance to stretch
This stop turns the trip into a two-island experience, not just a long drive.
Scenic Drive on the Overseas Highway
After Islamorada, the breathtaking scenic route begins. You will travel the length of the legendary Overseas Highway, crossing:
- 42 bridges
- 34 islands
including:
- Key Largo
- Tavernier
- Islamorada
- Duck Key
- Marathon
- Pigeon Key
- Big Pine Key
- Summerland Key
- Sugarloaf Key
- Stock Island

You’ll also travel across the new Seven Mile Bridge, while viewing:
- The old Seven Mile Bridge
- The historic Flagler Railroad ruins from the early 1900s
- Pigeon Key, home to restored worker houses from 1908–1909
Key West confirmed they will no longer maintain sections of the old bridge — meaning this is a piece of history you may not see forever.
With large picture windows, the bus gives you the
perfect view for photos of both the modern and historic landmarks.
Arrival in Key West + Six Hours Free Time
You arrive in Key West between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM, giving you six full hours to explore the island. Popular highlights include:

Our Bus Tour to Key West Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy is direct, transparent, and built around providing the best experience for every traveler. With a maximum capacity of 56 passengers per bus, every reservation counts — which is why we follow a clear set of rules.
Here’s exactly how it works:
You may cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your departure time. Anything inside the 24-hour window is non-refundable.
- There are no cancellations on the day of the tour.
If you miss your scheduled departure, the reservation cannot be refunded.
- You CAN reschedule your tour date for free, as long as you request it before your departure time.
- If you miss the tour, there is a small
$5 rescheduling fee.
This exists because once the bus leaves, empty seats cannot be replaced, and we operate with limited capacity.
- Why the $5 fee matters:
Some restaurants charge $75–$100 for missed reservations.
We don’t believe in that.
But we also can’t afford empty seats.
So $5 is simply a fairness rule that keeps prices low for everyone.
- Hotel pickup rules:
If you arranged hotel pickup and are not present at your confirmed pickup time, this counts as missing the tour and the same $5 reschedule fee applies.
- We allow rescheduling because life happens — flights get delayed, alarms fail, and plans change.
But if you don’t cancel 24 hours before departure or you miss the actual bus, the fee still applies.

Before You Go on Your Bus Tour to Key West – Tips No One Tells You (But We Do)
Most companies don’t tell you what you REALLY need to know before spending a full day in the Florida Keys. We do — because we want you to have the perfect day, not the nightmare version. Here are the best insider tips for your Key West adventure:
- It’s a long drive — be ready.
The trip is about 3.5 hours one way. Yes, we hop off in Islamorada, but it’s still a long ride. Bring patience, bring comfort, and bring your good vibes.
- Bring snacks and water.
You don’t HAVE to eat at Cracker Barrel during the Islamorada stop. Bring your own snacks, chips, cookies, energy bars — whatever keeps you happy. Just don’t bring a whole buffet on the bus.
- Key West = HOT.
Key West is the southernmost point in the state of Florida.
Summer temperatures regularly hit 95–100°F (35–38°C).
If you're visiting June through September… prepare to sweat.
- Take your ID — Key West bars WILL card you.
Whether you’re bar hopping, grabbing a beer, or trying a frozen drink, you will be asked for ID. Even older couples get carded. Don't leave it in your hotel.
- Never lose track of time — set a timer.
Key West is fun. Too much fun.
If you’re at a bar, taking photos, or wandering Duval Street, time disappears FAST.
Set a timer on your phone.
If you're not on the bus at departure time, you’re not coming back with us.
We might wait 5–10 minutes and call you… but if you're tipsy three blocks away, that's on you.
- Stay hydrated (especially if you drink).
Alcohol + Key West sun = disaster.
Bring a bottle of water. Drink often. Your body will thank you.
- Comfortable shoes are mandatory.
You’ll walk more than you think — especially to the Southernmost Point Buoy, which usually has a 45-minute line. Flip-flops are fine, but comfy shoes are better.
- Dress smart for the weather.
Lightweight clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses — Key West is brutally sunny. Protect yourself so you enjoy the day instead of burning up.
- Don’t get drunk.
Look, you can drink. You can bar hop. You can have a great time.
Just don’t get wrecked. You don’t want to puke on the bus (yes, there’s a bathroom, but please don’t make it your enemy).
- Charge your phone fully.
You’ll take tons of photos, videos, and selfies. Bring a portable charger if you can.
- Respect the schedule — that’s the secret to the perfect day.
The perfect Key West day happens when you enjoy the island, eat, drink, explore — and make it back to the bus on time.
The nightmare version happens when you look at your phone and realize it’s 7:30 PM and your bus is halfway back to Miami.
We’re giving you the real advice no one else gives because we want your experience to be smooth, fun, and unforgettable. Follow these tips, and you’ll have the perfect round-trip adventure.
